Supported to leave safely if participation is not appropriate
This protects both participant safety and organisational liability.

Participants confirm they are aged 18 or over and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
Navigate reserves the right to refuse, pause, or terminate participation where safety, consent, or capacity to engage is compromised, without liability or obligation to continue services.

Follow facilitator guidance
Maintain a safe and supportive environment for others
Navigate colleagues, facilitators and volunteers adhere to trauma-informed, ethical, and professional standards.
13.2 Ethical Standards & How Navigate Works
Navigate is committed to trauma-informed, consent-based practice. All facilitators, volunteers, and anyone delivering or supporting Navigate services are required to uphold the following ethical standards.
13.2.1 Safety & Consent
Your physical, emotional, and psychological safety comes first.
All participation is voluntary.
You may pause, stop, or withdraw at any time without explanation.
Consent is ongoing and can be withdrawn at any point.
Stillness, silence, or compliance is never assumed to be consent.
13.2.2 Boundaries & Professional Conduct
Clear boundaries are maintained at all times.
There is no pressure to disclose, perform, or “go deeper.”
Sexual, coercive, or exploitative behaviour is not tolerated.
Facilitators do not act as therapists, doctors, or mental health professionals unless explicitly qualified and contracted to do so.
13.2.3 Respect, Inclusion & Dignity
You will be treated with respect regardless of background, identity, belief, or lived experience.
Discrimination, shaming, humiliation, or judgement is not acceptable.
We aim to meet you where you are, not where you “should” be.
13.2.4 Transparency & Information
You will be given clear information about practices, risks, and contraindications in advance.
We do not guarantee outcomes or promise specific results.
We prioritise honesty, clarity, and impact over intent.
13.2.5 Touch & Somatic Practices
Any physical contact is optional and requires explicit consent.
Consent can be withdrawn immediately and without consequence.
No touch is ever required to participate.
13.2.6 Safeguarding & Duty of Care
Navigate takes safeguarding seriously.
If there is concern about immediate risk of harm to you or others, we may pause participation and seek additional support.
Confidentiality is respected, except where we have a legal or ethical duty to act to protect safety.
Decisions relating to safeguarding escalation are made using professional judgement, trauma-informed principles, and applicable legal duties, including where consent cannot be obtained.
13.2.7 Feedback, Concerns & Complaints
You are encouraged to raise feedback or concerns.
Emotional impact matters, regardless of intent.
Complaints are handled transparently, with care and fairness.
We prioritise repair, learning, and participant wellbeing over organisational protection.
13.2.8 Confidentiality & Data Protection
Your personal information is handled in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Information is only collected where necessary and never sold or misused.
Retention periods are defined in the Navigate Privacy Policy.
You have rights over your data, including access and correction.
13.2.9 Our Commitment
Navigate does not exist to “fix” you.
We exist to support safety, self-agency, and choice.
We may not always get things perfectly right – trauma-informed work is complex – but we are committed to listening, repairing, and learning when things don’t land well.
At Navigate, the individual is never less important than the system.
14. Severability Clause
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force.
15. Amendments Clause
Navigate may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force at the time of participation will apply.
16. Participant Acceptance
16.1 Acknowledgement of Terms
